Install KDE Connect android smartphone integration in Ubuntu / OpenSUSE

KDE desktop has been great alternative to Gnome desktop. KDE desktop can be for those which are more comfortable with Windows 7 style interface. 
KDE desktop  has not changed 
drastically like GNOME Desktop. 

KDE plasma desktop is eye candy customizable desktop interface which changes according the device it is being used on like tablet , netbooks or PC.
This is the same thing which now Ubuntu and Windows are now implementing in their respective releases.


KDE Connect is project that aims to communicate all your devices. 
with KDE Connect you can receive your phone notifications on your computer, or just use your phone as a remote control for your desktop.

A similar project named LinConnect  was developed for Ubuntu 13.10 only where you can receive notifications , send and receive files .


With KDE connect you can  
  • Receive notifications  of incoming or missed calls, text messages  directly to your desktop
  • Share clipboard text with android.
  • Send and receive files.
  • Remote control multimedia playback.
To Install KDE Connect on Ubuntu

sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop kdeconnect

To install KDE Connect in OpenSuse 13.1

zypper addrepo http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Extra/openSUSE_13.1/ opensuse-kde-extra

zypper install kdeconnect-kde

You need to also installKDE Connect  android app from Google Play store

You need to pair your Android Smartphone over Wifi to get started.
